When people talk about vanity sets, they may be referring to two different things: a vanity table and stool set or a vanity tray with hairbrush, comb, hand mirror, or other accessories.

Buying a complete vanity set all at once is the simplest way to make your purchase for several reasons: price, style, and convenience.

Price – If you buy a table separately from a stool or chair online, you’ll have to pay two separate shipping charges, or may pay extra for the additional packaging. When you buy the two together, their weights and packaging are combined to save money. When you make a purchase at a store, you’ll find that the two items are cheaper when sold as a set than the two items when sold separately.

Style – If you buy a vanity table first and then go back later to buy a stool or chair to match it, you may not be able to find the same style again. You might find something close, but not an exact match. If you buy a vanity set, you’ll be sure that both parts match perfectly. You’ll also be guaranteed that the stool or chair will be exactly the right size for the vanity, rather than too large or small.

Convenience – Finding the right vanity table or stool can be time-consuming. Vanity sets and individual pieces are available in styles ranging from ornate to sleek contemporary and may be made from wood, metal, or glass. Once you find one you like that works for your room, buy both pieces together so you don’t have to start the process over again for the other half.

Vanity Accessory Sets

Vanity accessory sets are a lovely addition to any vanity, and can also be placed on a dresser. The sets often include a tray (which may be mirrored), a hairbrush, a comb, and a hand mirror. Some also include perfume bottles, powder containers, and small boxes. Most are silver with ornate details, although you may find contemporary styles.

Both types of vanity sets have their place in the bedroom. An accessory set can add appeal to the vanity when it’s not in use, but it’s also functional. The vanity itself will see daily use once you have the stool or chair to go with it.
