Creative Uses for Vanity Tables

If you like the look of vanity tables, but don’t have room for one in your bedroom, you can find numerous other uses for them. They look great in hallways, living rooms, guest rooms, and offices. Of course, they’re also perfect for bedrooms if you do find the space.

Hallway Vanity Tables

If you have a formal entryway in your home, then a small vanity table would be the perfect addition next to the door. Rather than a boring hall table, a gorgeous vanity table can add flair to the foyer, and provide drawer storage for mail, keys, and other household items you need near the door.

When choosing a vanity table for your hallway, look for a narrow table with a drawer or two. Try to find one that doesn’t have an attached mirror, because the mirror will be too low to be useful in a hallway. Instead hang a larger mirror at eye level. You could also hang a picture above it to better decorate the entryway.

Home Office or Living Room Writing Desks

In general, a vanity table isn’t suitable for a computer keyboard because the surface is too high. If you only use the computer for brief periods, then opt for a laptop, which is easier to tuck away. These tables are perfect as writing desks in a home office or living room, however. If you enjoy writing letters or simply want a more attractive place to pay the bills, then a vanity table is the perfect solution.

Vanity tables are generally smaller than desks, therefore they take less room. If you opt for a style with drawers, you’ll have plenty of storage without sacrificing style. As with a hall table, look for a vanity without a mirror. You’ll want that space for a gorgeous penholder and a few picture frames.

Guest Room Tables

If you have a large guest room or even a small guesthouse, then a vanity table is a thoughtful and useful inclusion in the room. Most guests don’t need lots of drawer space, but they do need a place to put a few things. A vanity table with side drawers or a cabinet provides just enough storage without overwhelming the room.
